Description
FILITE is a natural rock of metamorphic origin composed mainly of Mica, Quartz, Chlorite and Feldspar. Formed about 550 million years ago from extraordinary catastrophic events, it is an evolution of slate and as such can be sectioned in specified planes, but it is much more compact, hard and resistant. As in the best slates, it has very low water absorption values.
